Mrs. Joanne Elizabeth Gannon Peterson, age 72, of Decatur, died Thursday, August 3, 2017. Memorial service will be Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church, with Rev. Evan D. Garner officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church with Shelton Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Peterson was born December 30, 1944 in New York, to Joseph Andrew Gannon and Nancy Squires Gannon.
She is survived by one son John Peterson (Tanya) of Decatur; one brother Michael J. Gannon of Hendersonville, NC; one sister Susan L. Thomas of Hartselle, AL; one grandson Donnie Randolph (Wanda) of Shelbyville, TN; and several nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. John’s Episcopal Center, Decatur Public Library or Committee on Church Corporation.
