Joanna Walker, passed away on 3/19/2024
She was the wife of Michael Walker. They were together for 11 years and married for 8 years.
Born in Anniston, Al, she was the daughter of Marilynn Poole and the late John Poole.
Joanna graduated from White Plains High School in 2013 and Gadsden State University in 2015 where she obtained her Associate’s Degree in Machine Tool Technology.
Joanna was employed at International Automotive Components and worked in Supply Chain.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, she was a wonderful and loving mother to their 5 year old daughter (Josie Layne), she was a creative person who enjoyed painting. Joanna was an avid animal lover and enjoyed tending to their “funny” farm. She loved rolling around with her favorite pig (Tulip).
Joanna will be remembered for her sense of humor and her infectious laugh. Most of all she will be remembered for how deeply she cared for those she loved.
Joanna is survived by her husband Michael Walker, Daughter Josie Layne Walker, Step children Brian Walker (Mary Reid) and Angel Walker. Mother Marilynn Poole, Sister Luara Stone (Jesset), Brothers Joshua and Jonathan Poole (Amanda), Nieces Chloe Mclain, Haley Poole and nephew Jacob Poole. She also had very special friends Autumn & Zack Moore, Amber Mitchell, Darian Wagner (Michael) and Donnie Pritchett who was like her second father. She was predeceased by her father John Poole, niece Miley McClain and her grandmother Mary Ann Jones.
She was a wonderful wife and mother and will be missed so deeply. She was definitely a one of kind woman and was loved by so many.
The memorial service will be held on March 26th at Iron City Baptist Church (41 Mandy LN Anniston Al 36207) at 6 PM.
