Joann Wood Perry, age 83, of Gadsden, Alabama passed away on Friday, December 2, 2022.
A visitation for Joann will be held Tuesday, December 6, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Collier-Butler Funeral Home, 824 Rainbow Drive, Gadsden, Alabama 35901, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM with Rev. Bobby Bryant officiating.
She will be laid to rest in Rainbow Memorial Gardens, 1440 W Grand Avenue, Gadsden, Alabama 35904.
Joann was married at the young age of 16. Her life was centered around caring for her family. On her 18th birthday she gave birth to a special daughter and has been her caregiver from that day to this. The marriage was also blessed with two additional daughters who were and are her pride and joy. JoAnn was a selfless, giving soul whose heart was the biggest part of her. She cared deeply for her entire family and she will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her loving husband of 67 years, Jerry L. Perry; daughters, Debra Perry, Tammy (Gary) Evans and Tina (Jay) Smith; grandchildren, Brittaney (Josh) Johnson, Ashley (Josh) Edwards, Zach (Kylie) Smith and Sam (Joycelyn) Evans; brother, Jerry Wood and sisters, Joy Sharp and Martha (Bobby) Bryant; 6 great grandchildren and a number of loving nieces and nephews, as well as, lifelong friends, Louise and Eddie Guest and Mike.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and sons-in-law.
