JoAnn Thornton, 78, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth. She was born September 29, 1945, to Jourd and Burnice Moore. She owned serval businesses over the years. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Church of Christ, and enjoyed fishing and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be at 1:00 P.M. Friday, December 29, 2023, at McMillan Funeral Home with Minister Ronnie Livingston officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
She is survived by three sons, Michael Thornton (Angie), Marlan Thornton (Amber) and Raben Thornton; one brother, Mack Moore (Barbara); two sisters, Nellie Hood (Gene) and Doris Hood; one brother-in-law, James Thornton; five grandchildren, Amanda Thornton, Kristin Lambert (A.J.), Blake Thornton (Katherine), Kent Thornton and Kenna Thornton; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Norris Thornton; her parents; one brother, Dub Moore; one sister, Patsy Duvall; one brother-in-law, Clinton Hood; one sister-in-law, Patricia Thornton; one nephew, William Moore; and one niece, Tammy Rodgers.
Pallbearers are A.J. Lambert, Kent Thornton, Rilyn Lambert and Robbie Hutchens.
