Joann Mixon Sizemore, age 77 of Beaverton, passed away Tuesday evening in the Northwest Medical Center in Winfield, Alabama.
Visitation, , 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday evening, February 5th, 2015, at the Otts Funeral Home, Sulligent, Alabama. Funeral service, 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 6th, 2015, at the Otts Funeral Home Chapel in Sulligent. Mr. James Wyers officiating. Burial in Sizemore Memorial Cemetery in Beaverton, Alabama.
Joann Mixon was born on December 13, 1937 in Lamar County, AL to the late Joseph “Joe” and Lois Porter Mixon. She attended and graduated from Sulligent High School in 1957. She met and married Morgan Sizemore and together they had three children. Joann spent most of her life working as a seamstress. She sewed for the public as well as being employed by Health-Tex and McCoy Manufacturing. She enjoyed reading and sewing. Joann was a member of Sulligent Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Morgan Sizemore, Beaverton, AL.; 1 son, Lynn Sizemore, Hamilton, AL.; 1 daughter, Lisa (Jim) Spruiell, Sulligent, AL.; 1 sister, Patricia (Jerry) Jones, Prattville, AL.; 4 grandchildren, Nathan (Anna) McGriff, Danielle (Donnie) Atkinson, Jacob Spruiell, and Madison Spruiell.
She was preceded in death by 1 son, Morgan David Sizemore; 1 great-granddaughter, Charley Joann Atkinson; and her parents, Joseph “Joe” Mixon and Lois Porter Mixon.
Joann is also survived by a special friend, Kim Lee.
