JoAnn was born on February 3, 1934, to the late Frank and Exie Latham. In 1950, she married the love of her life, Wayne Williams. They lived an amazing, adventure-filled life together for over 70 years. She was a loving mother who always took care of her children and did the best she could to teach and guide them. She was a loving and caring grandmother and great grandmother, who taught her grandkids how to sew, garden and cook. Her favorite meal to cook was breakfast where she cooked extra large biscuits and brown gravy reserved just for her grandkids.
JoAnn had many loving lifelong customers in her home beauty shop. She delighted herself in all the laughter and excitement her family brought her. She loved to can the goods from their garden and shared it with family, friends and neighbors and taught her grandchildren the art of canning. She also loved to bring people together through helping with her husband’s barbecues, fish fry’s and stews.
She loved life, loved people and gave a helping hand to everyone. She loved her church and Sunday school classes, and extended her compassion and love for others through the many activities with her church family, who she loved dearly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother Billy Frank Latham, Wayne (Mick) Latham, and sisters Nadine Plunk, Yvonne Jones, and Joyce Fowler.
She is survived by brother Jerry Latham and sister Dorthy Nell Gaddy and children, John Williams, Melissa Eads, four grandchildren, Leslie Meals, Luke Williams, Bill Eads, Janah Rae Eads, four great grandchildren, Blake Smith, Rachel Meals, Savannah Williams and Channing Williams.
