Joann Elizabeth Prince Stubblefield, age 83 of Sherwood, passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at her residence. She was born on April 11, 1938, in Sherwood to the late Dave and Della Dorsett Prince.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Janie Mae, Melvin, Herschel, Pearl, Howard, Dave Jr., Billy Ralph, Clyde, and Alice Ruth. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Russell Stubblefield of Sherwood; children, Teresa (Glenn) Smith of South Pittsburg and Rusty Stubblefield (Lori) of Sherwood; grandchildren, Suzanne (Robert) Avett, Bo (Kristi) Smith, Trey Stubblefield (Kelsey), Haley Stubblefield and Tyler Stubblefield; sisters-in-law, Dot Phillips and Joy Matthews; and several nieces and nephews.
Joann was a talented seamstress and a wonderful cook. She took great pride in her home and caring for her family. She was post master at the Sherwood post office, retiring in 2011, often helping many who came to her for support. Joann was a member of the Sherwood Church of Christ.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022, from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 1:00pm in the chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Interment will be at Mt. View Cemetery in Sherwood.
