JoAnn Askew Hayes, 81, of Cherokee, passed away on December 31, 2024. Arrangements will be announced by Morrison Funeral Home in Cherokee.
JoAnn was a native and life-long resident of Colbert County. She was a retired RN and a member of Mhoontown Methodist Church in Cherokee. She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Thelma Askew; brothers, Vernon, Montroy, and Gary Don Askew; sister, Betty Lundy; and grandson, Scott Handley.
JoAnn is survived by her son, Robby Hayes; daughter, Suzann Handley (Kelvin); granddaughter, Rene’e Hallmark (Tyler); and great grandchildren, Gwen and Alora Jo Hallmark.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
