Joan Phillips, 67 of Lester, passed away on Saturday, December 9th, 2023, at her residence. Mrs. Phillips was born on March 29, 1956, in Toledo, Ohio, to Billy and Francis Coffman Stanford.
Mrs. Phillips is survived by her children Brent Phillips (Allison) and Heather Johnson (Jon); grandchildren Cooper Phillips, Lucas Johnson, Anna Johnson, and Sawyer Johnson; sister Kay Ridgeway (Ronnie); brother Ray Stanford (Mary); nephew Griffin Stanford (Erica); great niece Millie Stanford; great nephew Finn Stanford; and several cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and husband Steve Phillips.
Funeral services for Mrs. Phillips will be Tuesday, December 12th, 2023, at 2:00pm at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, with Mark Johnson and Richard Durham officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 12:00-1:45pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at New Salem Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lucas Johnson, Cooper Phillips, Sawyer Johnson, Griffin Stanford, Brent Durham, and Hayden Durham.
Mrs. Phillips loved and cherished her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards with her cousin, traveling, and fixing Sunday lunch for family and friends. She was active in her ladies Bible class and was a long time member of Hesters Chapel Church of Lester, Alabama. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
