Visitation will be on October 7 at 11am and a Celebration of Life will be at Noon. She will be laid to rest at Roselawn Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, John Willard Key, her two daughters, Joanna Key and Deborah (Jake) Woods, and three grandchildren, Caroline Woods, Elijah Woods, and John William Woods; sister Pat Parker, brothers John James and Frank (Linda) James; wonderful nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews, cousins and extended family.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Jack & Jane James.
Joan was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, a wonderful sister and friend. She was a devout Christian and prayer warrior who journaled almost daily and was a part of a weekly prayer group for 35 years. She and her husband attended Hartselle First Assembly of God.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Sav-A-Life or Alabama Camp Farthest Out (CFO) Scholarship Fund.
Pallbearers will be Jake Woods, Sean Walsh, Nathaniel Parker, Austin Parker, Tom McCutcheon and Mike Bryan.
