Joan M. Rice, 89 of Gardendale, passed away Monday July 1, 2024. She was retired after a 30 year career at K-mart. Some of her great loves in life were her family and flowers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Norman Rice; son, Steven Jack Rice and nine siblings.
Survivors include her children, LeeAnn Kuykendall (Ricky), Wanda Ladu (Tony) and Curtis Rice (Tracy); grandchildren, Bradley Rice, Hannah Rice, Caleb Kuykendall (Kathryn), Adam Ladu (Casey), Chris Ladu, Stacy Ladu and Wendi Hardin (Chris); nine great grandchildren several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services will be Friday July 5, 24 at 1:00 pm in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Rev. Danny Owensby will officiate. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation is Friday from 12-1 pm.
