Funeral Services for Mrs. Joan Graben, age 81 of Lineville, will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland at 11:00 A.M. with Bro. John Howell and Bro. Brian Steen officiating. Burial will follow at the Clay County Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Graben passed away on Friday, January 7, 2022 at her home. A lifelong resident of Clay County, she graduated from Clay County High School, and worked as a School Bus Driver for Clay County for around 37 years. She also worked at Perryland for 16 years and off and on at Ann’s Flowers for some time. In her younger years, she enjoyed oil painting, traveling, and even won prizes for her quilting. Mrs. Graben loved chasing her kids and grandchildren around, and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of Barfield Baptist Church.

She is survived by her four children: Pam Minnifield (Jessie) of Dadeville, Phillip Graben (Tina) and Paul Graben, both of Lineville, and Patrick Graben (Fiance Lisa) of Sylacauga; 6 grandchildren: Dexter Graben (Jennifer Dill) of Ragland, Kaylee Graben of Heflin, India Hughes (Andrew) of Lineville, Josh Smith of Ashland, JoAnna Lyles (Jaylon) of Oxford, and M. J. Ballard of Dadeville; 6 great-grandchildren: Ankhor, Harbor, Island, and Ocean Hughes, Oaklee Graben, and Jaylee Lyles; one sister, Diane Misch of Ashland; one brother, Steve Hallman of Charlotte, NC; two sister in laws: Carolyn Smith of Lineville and Helen Norred (John) of Ashland plus a large extended family.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Brittan and Frances Scoggins Hallman, and her husband, Jack Graben.

Active Pallbearers will be Dexter Graben, Josh Smith, Andrew Hughes, Wayne Ford, Brittan Rotzenburg, Justin McCollum, and Chris McCollum.

Her visitation will take place on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland from 10:00 A.M. until service time at 11:00 A.M.
