Joan Geier Anderson, aged 86, passed away peacefully in Huntsville, Alabama on August 18, 2023. Born on June 10, 1937, in Alabama, Joan was a woman of faith, love, and dedication, who left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her.
Joan was the beloved matriarch of a large and loving family. She is survived by her children, Greg (Jonna) Anderson, Dan (Khris) Anderson, John (Jenny) Anderson, Debbie (Allen) Hicks, and Patty (Jay) Lewis. Joan was also a cherished grandmother to ten grandchildren and great-grandmother to ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Anderson, her parents, Louis and Lida Reynolds Geier, her brothers, Jack, Ronald, and Donald Geier, and her sisters, Vaudrey Gaulding and Sara Anne Smith.
Joan’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. She was a dedicated member of Hillwood Baptist Church for over 40 years, where she found solace, companionship, and a community that shared her deep-rooted faith. Her love for the Lord was evident in her actions and her words, and she was a beacon of hope and strength for many within her church community.
A woman of great compassion and kindness, Joan was known for her loving nature. She had a heart that welcomed everyone, and her home was often filled with laughter, love, and the aroma of her delicious home-cooked meals. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished her family above all else. Her love was a constant, comforting presence that will be deeply missed.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 21, 2023 at 4:00 PM at the Hampton Cove Funeral Home with Brother Eric Bagwell officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:00 PM until the time of the service.
