Joan Coggins, age 89, of Pontotoc, Mississippi passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2024.Joan is survived by her son Mike Coggins (Linda); and her son Lt Cl (Ret) Gary W. Coggins (Dr. Patti Cruse Coggins); her sister Loretta Davis; her granddaughter Heather McNutt (David), her granddaughter Jennifer Coggins, her great granddaughter Alyssa Claire McNutt, her special cousins Teena Bustin Foale, her special cousins Janet Trail and her special cousins Sarah Kay.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband Elbert K. “Sonny” Coggins, III; her father Jotty Foster Winesette and her mother Ethel Burnett Winesette.
Joan leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins to treasure her memory.
A visitation for Joan will be held Saturday, December 28, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Reese Funeral Home, 2214 Austinville Road, Austin, VA 24312. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 1:00 PM at Austinville Cemetery, Austinville, VA.
Joan will be laid to rest in Burnett Family Cemetery, Austinville, VA.
