Jo Ann “Jody” Patterson, of Decatur, Alabama, went to her home in heaven on Thursday, December 14, 2023 at the age of 79 years old.
She is preceded in death by her “sweet love”, Dr. Jere W. Patterson Sr., who passed on December 12, 2020, and her brother, Robert Coan. Mrs. Patterson is survived by her children, Wayne Patterson (Gayla) and Jana Satterfield (Dwight); grandchildren, Eric Collier (Alyze), Anna Kate Patterson Vickery (Zane), Ashley Satterfield, Ali Grace Satterfield, and Josie Patterson Armstrong (Michael); and great-grandchildren, Browning Collier, Marlee Ann Collier, and Saylor Vickery.
Jo Ann was born on January 9, 1944, in Birmingham, AL, and graduated from Ensley High School. She married Jere on September 7, 1963, and was his partner in life and ministry for over 57 years. Together they served in multiple churches and community organizations, leading many to know Christ as their savior.
A celebration of life will take place on Sunday, December 17, 2023, at 2:00PM at Central Park Baptist Church in Decatur, AL. Visitation from 1:30PM to 2:00PM prior to the service at the church. Shelton Funeral Home directed.
