Jimmy Wayne Jones, 73, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2024 at the North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice Unit. Mr. Jones was born in Tupelo on December 16, 1950 to Alfred Herbert Jones and Varnell Enlow Jones. He grew up in Itawamba County and attended school in Fulton, finishing at Itawamba Community College in 1970. Jimmy worked at various places during his life including Mueller Brass in Fulton and Pennsylvania Tire and Rubber Company in Tupelo. He worked at Piper Impact in New Albany for 18 years. He also sold cars for a number of years and was retired from Toyota Manufacturing in Blue Springs. Mr. Jones was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, a York Rite Mason, a Shriner, and was a Past Master of Tupelo Masonic Lodge #318.
Jimmy is survived by several cousins and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Margaret.
Services honoring his memory will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at the Jefferson Street Chapel of Pegues Funeral Directors with Bro. Casey Jones officiating. The service will conclude with Masonic Rites. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.
Visitation will be 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday at Pegues, Tupelo.
