Jimmy Wayne Smith Jimmy Wayne “Jim” Smith, 84, of Tishomingo, Mississippi, died on Monday, February 12, 2024, at his residence. For most of his life, Jimmy worked in timber. He started as a young boy and continued until the mid ‘90s. Around 1995, he began doing maintenance work for the county, which he did until retirement in 2009. Jimmy loved the outdoors. He spent a lot of his time hunting, fishing, and working outside. Whether it was bushhogging, tending the garden, or working on the yard, he just loved staying in the sun. Although quiet, he was very social. He enjoyed hanging out in town and got along with everybody he met. Jimmy is survived by his son, Mike Smith; his siblings, Bobby Smith and Mary Ann Davis; his grandchildren, Jessie Smith (Allison), Lindsey Smith, Lesha Thompson (Michael), and Casey Holman; his great-grandchildren, Jayden Smith, James Holman, Liam Thompson, Titus Thompson, and Isaac Smith; and a host of other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pearlie Mae Smith; and his parents, Hessie and Cullen Smith. Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, MS, is entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation is scheduled from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. A graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 15, 2024, in Bethlehem Cemetery. Pallbearers include Jessie Smith, Jayden Smith, Lindsey Smith, James Holman, Cody Smith, and Hunter Mock. Memorials may be made in Jimmy’s honor to St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital or LeBonheur Children’s Hospital.
