Jimmy T. Hyche, 80, of Cordova, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 26, 2022.
Family will be receiving friends on Monday, May 2, 2022, from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m., at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home. Service will follow at 2 p.m., in the Kilgore-Green Chapel, with burial at Sardis on the river. Johnny Sims will officiate.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Troy and Thelma Hyche; brother, Shirley; daughter, Melanie Anderson; and mother-in-law, Lorene Anderson.
Jimmy is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Janet; daughter, Candy Craig (John); son, Chris; grandson, Tyler McGuire (Lindsay); granddaughter, Alison McGuire; great-grandson, Tatum McGuire; brother-in-law, Greg Anderson (Sheryl); and special nephew, Timmy Hyche (Charlotte). He is also survived by his beloved four-legged kitties, Jerry and Izzy.
Jimmy worked for Drummond Coal Company for 32 years, including an as Assistant Superintendent. Simply put, nobody could outwork Jimmy. However, Jimmy was also a people person. His coworkers felt comfortable talking to him and enjoyed working with him, and he was respected as a man of his word.
Jimmy was also a trustee and devoted member of the Carbon Hill Church of God. Jimmy loved fishing, gardening, and fixing anything that needed fixin’. There was almost nothing Jimmy couldn’t do.
A devoted family man and friend, Jimmy was always there in someone’s time of need, and always offered his help free of complaints or expectations that you would return the favor.
Jimmy was loved deeply, and will be missed by all who knew him.
