Jimmy Sanford Baird, age 77, passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, TN. Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 10:30 AM at Marvin Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery with Bro. Neil Bennett officiating. Jimmy was born November 27, 1943 in Haywood County. He graduated from Haywood High School, Class of 1961. In 1964, he married Cornelia Milam and they were married for 56 years. He served in the United States Army and after returning from Vietnam in 1968, Jimmy worked for Fletcher-Thornton Farm Equipment and later at Ag-Grow in Brownsville. He enjoyed hunting, antiques, old cars and talking with family and friends. He was a member of the Stanton Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Cornelia Milam Baird of Brownsville, TN and one brother, Hunter Baird, Jr. (Sharon) of Bolivar, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Freeman Hunter Baird, Sr. and Ann Sanford Baird. Pallbearers for the service are Zach Fox, Buddy Carlton, Mike Gordon, Robert Earl Thornton, Jeff Baker, and Jimbo Klenk. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Memphis School of Preaching, 3950 Forest Hill Irene Rd., Memphis, TN 38125. All arrangements and services are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN.
