Jimmy Ray “Jim” Nichols, age 65, of Tuscumbia, died Friday, June 9, 2017. The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, June 11, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The graveside funeral service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Barton Cemetery, with Don McGuyer officiating.
Jim was a native of Colbert County and a member of the Church of Christ. He was a retired crane operator for Reynolds, and was a member of the IBEW local #558. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Elizabeth Nichols, and sister, Mary Alice “Tiny” Pennington.
Survivors include sons, Joseph Clint Nichols (Somer) and Kyle Inman Nichols; brothers, Raymond Nichols Jr. and Ronald Nichols; sister, Lorraine Olive (Julian); and grandchildren, Riley Jo Nichols and Jackson Ray Nichols.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Olive, Carl Olive, Jim Reed, Ellis Lang, Justin Overton, and Dalton Wright. Joe Inman will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
