  Jimmy Mac Freeman, 85, of Leeds, AL passed away on December 12, 2023. He was born on August 25, 1938, to Hattie McFarlan Freeman and James Earl Freeman of Harvest, AL.

In 1961 he joined the US Army serving as a Private First Class in the artillery division for 3 years active duty in Germany and 3 years in the inactive reserves.  After the army, Jimmy began his 56-year career in printing starting his career at General Electric Huntsville, AL working on special projects including the NASA Space program. In 1974, he received an Associate Degree in Business from Jefferson State Junior College.

Jimmy married Peggy Rigsby Freeman on July 17, 1964.  They welcomed four children, Karen Marie Dayhood (Sam), Jerry Mac Feeman, Constance Jane Jones, Amanda Nicole Helms (Nathan).  They share seven grandchildren, Alyassa Jones Oliver (Rives), Austin Jones, Emma Jones, Zachariah Jones, Hannah Helms, Riley Helms, Avery Helms, Step-Granddaughter Sarah Dayhood (Christopher) and two great-grandchildren, Evander Oliver, and Callan Oliver.

He is predeceased in death by his father, James Earl Freeman, his mother, Hattie McFarlen Freeman, his nephew Keith Lyons, and his son Jerry Mac Freeman.

In addition to his wife, children, and grandchildren, he is survived by his sister Nancy Freeman Hughes, a large host of brothers and sister-in-laws, numerous nieces and nephews and many cousins. Jimmy was a member of Huntland Pentecostal Church in Huntland, TN.

All services will be held at Spry Funeral Home in Huntsville on December 16, 2023. Visitation take place from 10:30am-12:00pm with the funeral service proceeding at 12:00pm followed by the interment at Maple Hill Cemetery.
