Jimmy Lewis Threet (Jim), age 90, of Florence, passed away on January 5th, 2024. Visitation will be held on Wednesday the 10th from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home of Florence. The service will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Sonny Owens officiating. Jim will be laid to rest in Greenview cemetery. Pallbearers include Alan Handley, Caden Handley, Ty Threet, David Crossley, Brett Harkins, Steve Darby, Ed Threet, Don Threet, and Johnny Daily. Honorary pallbearers are Bob Balentine and Rod Balentine.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; Willie Lee and Martha Ann Threet, brothers; Grady, Charlie, Willie Lee Jr., David, half-brother; Dan, and sisters; Wylene Daily, Clara Green, and Elizabeth Darby.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Mrs. Nita Threet. Other survivors include children; Pam Harkins (Brett), Jeff Threet (Susie), and Lisa Crossley (David). Brothers, Donald and half-brother Nathan Threet. Grandchildren; Alan Handley (Rebekah), Katie, Alicia, and Ty (Vivian) Threet. Along with great-grandchildren Caden, Preston, Lillie, Mariah, Casey, Travis, Kathleen, Chris, Shepherd, Poe, MaKayla, Woods, Coble and several nieces and nephews.

Jim was a proud veteran who served in the Korean War through the Army branch. He devoted 30 years working for Reynolds Alloys. Jim was also an impressive pool player proved by his many tournament wins. Outdoors was his favorite place to be, spending many hours outside fishing, hunting, and gardening.

The family would like to send many thanks to Dr. Ty Ashley, Julie, Stephanie, and Kristy with Enhabit Hospice for such great care.
