Funeral Service for Jimmy Hugh Nesmith, 87 of Hartselle will be Tuesday September 19, 2017 at 5:00PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Gary Patton and Tim Sutton officiating with burial in Hartselle Memory Gardens Cemetery and Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00-5:00PM at the Funeral Home. Mr. Nesmith was born November 2, 1929 to Jay T. Nesmith and Lula Belle Tomlinson Nesmith. He passed away Saturday September 16, 2017 at Summerford Nursing Home. He retired from Monsanto after 32 years as a machinist. Enjoyed farming especially raising watermelons. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He has resided in Hartselle where he raised his family since 1954. Mr. Nesmith attended Somerville Road Church of Christ where he served as a deacon for many years. His greatest pleasure was being Surrounded by his family and close friends where there was always a story to be told and a laugh to be heard. In 1951 he married Merlene Nesmith. He was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Cindy Nesmith.
