Jimmy was born to Edward and Annie Goodrich on April 25, 1945 in Carroll County. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Mary Lynn McDonald. He was a native of Jackson TN, graduating from North Side High School in the early 60’s. He was a hardworking jack of all trades man. He traveled all over the states working, seeing each and every one of them. He drove a semi for a while, worked as a ranch hand in Texas, was a pipe fitter and retired from Owens Corning Fiberglass of Amarillo, TX.
He did what he wanted in life and enjoyed every minute of every day stating “I have no regrets”. He dabbled a little in song writing and loved telling jokes like his momma did. Being a bit of a jokester he could be the life of a party. He loved NASCAR, fishing when he was able and professional football, with his team being the Saints. He was smarter than the average person and could compete with the contestants on Jeopardy sitting at home answering 90% of the questions.
He is survived by his children Melissa Wester (Bill) and Beau Goodrich (Karla); brother, Jerry Goodrich (Cathy); sisters, Charlotte Jordan (Gene), Gail Smith (Larry), and Karen Goodrich (Barry). He has four grandkids Brooke Kinney (Austin), Wesley Wester (Morgan), Chase Goodrich, and Tanner Goodrich; and two great grandkids Easton Kinney and Rhett Kinney. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Even though he is no longer in any more pain we will all miss him greatly. His quick wittedness, wealth of knowledge, ability to work on anything or tell you how to, will be missed. We Love you Dad!!!
The family will receive friends and loved ones on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 from 1-2 p.m. at the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m.
