Jimmy Dwight Bratton, 85, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at The Magnolia at Oxford Commons in Oxford, MS. Jimmy was born on January 13, 1939, to Alka and Wana Bratton and was raised in the Springhill and Old Dallas area. He worked for Whirlpool for 48 years before retiring early to care for his wife. Being around family and friends, being active in his church, outdoors, and working in his garden were things he enjoyed most.
Jimmy is survived by his daughter, Peggy Brewer; his sons, Randy Bratton (Vicky), Tim Bratton, and Tracy Bratton (Candus); his brother, Junior Bratton (Chanel); a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Bratton; his sister, Linda Waldrop; his brother, Johnny Bratton; his parents, Alka and Wana Bratton; and his son-in-law, Brandon Brewer.
Services will be Sunday, April 14, 2024, at 3PM at Springhill Methodist Church with Bro. Ricky Camp officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, April 13th 4-7PM at Springhill Methodist Church and Sunday, April 14th 2PM until service time. Burial will follow in Springhill Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Allen Bratton, Allen Brewer, Gary Bratton, TL Bratton, Lee Crocker, and Dustin Potts.
