Jimmy David Massengill was born October 13, 1944, in Stantonville, TN, the son of the late Francis Marion and Roxie Ann Tillman Massengill. He was united in marriage to Ruby Massengill on March 26, 1997 and a member of New Hope Church of Christ. He was also a member of the Teamsters Union. Mr. Massengill previously worked in the service department for Kasco. He was also employed with East Texas Motor Freight out of Memphis, TN, as a mechanic; and a salesman at Dunns Supply in Grand Junction, TN. Jimmy loved to entertain whether that be singing or playing music. He also enjoyed the occasional game of golf.
Mr. Massengill departed this life on February 3, 2024, in Middleton, Tennessee at the age of 79 years, 3 months, 21 days.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Massengill of Middleton, TN; two sons, Ricky Massengill (Angie) of Byhalia, MS, David Massengill of Middleton, TN; two daughters, Ginger Jimmerson of Toone, TN, Misty Burnette of Middleton, TN; stepson, Lynn Crowley (Misty) of Middleton, TN; eleven grandchildren, William Wilson, Jennifer Bennett, Shelby Jimmerson, Brooklyn Jimmerson, Katelyn Jimmerson, Bryant Massengill, Quinton Massengill, Wade Burnette, Carly Burnett, Chelsea Crowley, Lyndon Crowley (Madison); a great-grandchild, Bennett Crowley.
In addition to his parents Jimmy is preceded in death by three brothers, Eugene Massengill, Billy Massengill, Mack Massengill; a sister, Jerry Sue Frayser.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 5, 2024, at 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. service time at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Middleton, Tennessee.
Funeral services will be held on February 6, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Middleton in Middleton, Tennessee, with Tom Childers officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Vinson Cemetery at Adamsville, Tennessee
