It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jimmy David Caperton, a beloved member of our community. Born on August 19, 1953 in Waynesboro, TN, Jimmy was the son of the late Jack Caperton and Fayetta Caperton. He was a devoted member of Millrock Freewill Baptist Church.
Jimmy’s hard work and dedication were evident in his career at Murray Ohio, where he remained until its closure in 2005. Beyond his work, Jimmy possessed a green thumb and had a talent for cultivating bountiful gardens. He derived great joy from sharing the fresh vegetables he grew with his family and the neighbors down the creek of Shawnettee.
On February 5, 2024, Mr. Caperton peacefully departed this life at the age of 70 in Waynesboro, TN. He leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy that will forever be treasured.
Jimmy is survived by his loving sons, Christopher Caperton (Cindy) and Caleb Caperton (Misty). He was an adoring grandfather to five grandchildren; Taylor Caperton, Preston Caperton, Lydia Caperton, Miley Caperton, and Cooper Caperton. His memory will also be eternally cherished by his two sisters, Donna Dixon (Paul) and Vickie Tatum (Charlie), along with three nieces and a host of cousins who loved him dearly. Furthermore, Jimmy leaves behind a special friend, Deloris Stooksberry.
The visitation to honor Jimmy’s life will take place at the Shackelford Funeral Home in Collinwood on Thursday, February 8th, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Brother Greg Eaton.
Jimmy Caperton will be laid to rest at Horton Daniel Cemetery, where he will find eternal peace.
