Funeral service for Jimmy D. Nelson, 78, will be Friday, October 9, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joey Coots officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Falkville City Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, October 9, 2015 from 1:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Nelson died on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at his residence. He was born August 21, 1937, in Lawrence County to Wallace Leroy Nelson and Wilma Lee Cartee Nelson. Mr. Nelson was the owner- operator of the D & S Machine Shop for 43 years. He was machinist by trade, and also served in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Nelson was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Charles L. and Bobby L. Nelson and his parents.
