Jimmy Allen Belk, 79, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family Friday, March 29, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.
Jimmy was born and raised in Greenwood, Mississippi, where he graduated from Greenwood High School in 1962.
Jimmy attended Mississippi Delta Junior College, then furthered his education at Mississippi State University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management. He began his career at Walker Manufacturing in Aberdeen, Mississippi, where he worked for 17 years. He then worked for FrabriValve in Amory and was co-owner of Supertrail Trailers in Aberdeen.
While working for Tecumseh Products, he relocated his family to Tupelo. Jimmy was a manufacturing instructor at Itawamba Community College when he retired.
Jimmy lived his life to the fullest and loved the outdoors. He was an avid motorcyclist, making numerous trips across the country to visit national parks. Jimmy loved being with his family and friends, sitting on the beach and playing guitar. He is survived by his brother, James Belk of Greenwood; three daughters, Jamie Jaudon (Sam) of Birmingham, Shannon Tucker (Tommy) of Starkville, and Mandy Lacey (Ryan) of Tupelo; and seven grandchildren, Jack Jaudon (Clara), Brady Jaudon, Georgia Tucker, Thomas Henry Tucker, Elliott Tucker, Ava Lacey, and Rylan Lacey. Honorary Pallbearers are Kerry Robertson, Brad Bailey, Michael Riley, Perry Bost, Chad Miller and Brad Windham.
Services will be Saturday, April 6, at W.E. Pegues Funeral Home in Tupelo with visitation from 1-3 P.M. followed by a memorial at 3 P.M. in the chapel.
A Celebration of Life reception at Lone Star Bar and Grill will immediately follow the memorial service.
