Jimmie Wayne Payne was born August 11, 1938 in Gibson County, TN the son the late Benjamin Loy and Velma Gertrude Stephens Payne.
He departed this life on March 29, 2024 in Bethel Springs, TN at the age of 85 years, 7 months and 18 days. He was surrounded by his wife and children. He worked for the State Department for 39 years. After retirement he had other jobs and enjoyed doing things on his farm.
He was joined in marriage to Shirley Fay Burkeens on October 8, 1958. Jimmie and Shirley enjoyed 65 years of marriage. Jimmie is survived by his wife, Shirley; son, Johnny (Sherri) Payne; daughters, Teresa (John) Hames and Kathy (Randy) Wilkins; grandchildren, Jessica, Janson, Patrick, Katie, Joseph, and Kristen; 9 great grandchildren; four sisters, Ester Newton, Caroline (Gene) Hurst, Marsha (Wilbur) Lowrance, and Loretta Baggett; and a host of extended family and friends.
