Jimmie Ray Higginbotham Jimmie Ray Higginbotham, aged 84, of Athens, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 25th, 2025, at Athens Health & Rehab. Born on March 17th, 1941, in Athens, he was the son of James Ozell Higginbotham and Mattie Lou Chambers Higginbotham.

Mr. Higginbotham is lovingly remembered by his family:
Daughter: Gina Pierce (husband Cliff); sons John Higginbotham (wife Melinda) and David Higginbotham (wife Anna); grandchildren Noah Higginbotham, Cole Pierce (wife Sam), Kate Harris (husband Drew), Hayden Pierce (wife Macy), Kacen Pierce, Bree Higginbotham, Tess Higginbotham, Linley Higginbotham, Banks Higginbotham; great-grandchild Drew Pierce; brother Tim Higginbotham (wife Patricia); sister-in-law Carol Crouch; several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Higginbotham was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bobbie Rice Higginbotham; parents James and Mattie Lou Higginbotham; sister-in-law Dorothy Smith; and brothers-in-law Mike Crouch and James Smith.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 28th, 2025, at 11:00 am at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, with John Gibson officiating. The family will welcome visitors on Friday from 9:00 to 10:45 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. Pallbearers: Brad Higginbotham, Steven Higginbotham, Noah Higginbotham, Cole Pierce, Hayden Pierce, Kacen Pierce. Honorary Pallbearer: Banks Higginbotham.

Mr. Higginbotham was a dedicated and cherished member of the Jones Road Church of Christ. He shared 58 cherished years with the love of his life, Bobbie. He spent many dedicated years working at Delphi and found joy in being a ham radio operator. His passion for music and love for western films were well-known to those close to him. Jimmie Ray Higginbotham will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
