Jimmie Ray Groce, 71 of Athens, passed away on Thursday, May 11th, 2023, at his residence. Mr. Groce was born on October 8th, 1951, in Limestone County, to Rabon Alvin Groce and Ellen Louise Craig Groce.
Mr. Groce is survived by his wife of 52 years, Barbara Groce; children Kristie Crouch (Brian), Jeffery Groce (Brandy), and Brian Groce (Nancy); grandchildren Jesse Crouch (Aleksandra), Jacob Crouch (Elizabeth), Justin Crouch (Kaitlyn), Dalton Groce (fiancé Samantha Torres), Darren Groce, Krysta Groce, Riley Groce, and Colt Hardic (Jaime); great-grandchildren Kenneth Crouch, Anastasia Crouch, Scarlett Crouch, Benjamin Hardic, Eliana Crouch, and Sofia Crouch; brothers Terry Groce and Rickey Groce (Gyn); sisters Brenda Groce and Shirley Hendrix (Don); and many nieces, nephews, church family, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and sister Janice Groce.
Funeral services for Mr. Groce will be Tuesday, May 16th, 2023, at 11:00am at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, with Tim Keenum officiating. Visitation will be Monday, May 15th, from 5:00-8:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Copeland Cemetery.
