Jimmie Louise Emerson, age 85 of Hamilton, Alabama, passed away on December 19, 2022, at Sunset Manor Nursing Home, Guin, Alabama.
She was born October 19, 1937, in Hamilton, Alabama to Garlin and Exie Lee Ballard Clement. She was preceded in death by her parents; Garlin and Exie Clement; stepmother, Lillian Clement: sister, Bobbie Cabello of Adrian, Michigan; and grandparents, Booker and Ellie Ballard.
She was survived by her husband of almost 65 years, James Hershel Emerson, daughter and son-in-law, Myra and Rickey Lowery of Laurel Hill, Florida; brothers, Bill Clement of Columbus, Mississippi: John” Butch” (Joan) Clement of Fultondale, Alabama; and sister, Betty (Rayford) Minor of Haleyville, Alabama.
In the late 1950’s and early 1960’s she was employed for 11 years by Munsingwear in Hamilton, Alabama. Jimmie was an excellent seamstress and after leaving Munsingwear to become a stay-at-home mom and homemaker, she put those talents to work sewing for the public.
Jimmie was an active participant at the Hamilton Senior Center. She was a member of the Barnesville Free Will Baptist Church since 1973.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at Marion County Funeral Home, Hamilton, Alabama with Bro. Jeff Fleming officiating and burial at Hamilton Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
