Jimmie Leroy Patterson was born May 26, 1936, in Dyer, Tennessee to the late Jimmy and Eunice Patterson. He departed this life on Monday, November 25 at the Dyer Nursing Center. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Frank Holland, sisters LaVoyd Brown, Marion Jenkins, and Emma Jean Patterson.
He confessed his love for Christ at an early age and joined Dyer Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Dyer, Tennessee.
Jimmie was a proud member of the United States Air force. He later went on to serve as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service of Chicago, Il where he retired after 34 years of service. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
He leaves to rejoice in the memories of his life: nephew Gregory Jenkins, Sr. (Carlita); niece Valerie D. Jenkins; grandniece Chandra Harris; grandnephews Chester Harris III, Keith Jenkins, Carlos Jenkins (Natalie), Greg Jenkins Jr, and Jerrell Jenkins; great great nieces Delila and Winter’ Reign Jenkins; great great nephew Khari Jenkins; and, a host of cousins and friends
