Jimmie L. Wright, 77, of Cairo, Mississippi, died Sunday, November 3, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Mr. Wright attended Canaan Assembly of God Church in Booneville. He was retired from General Motors in Chicago where he was employed for thirty years as a welder. He enjoyed sports, especially basketball, and working on older-model cars. Mr. Wright also loved to spend time with his family and grandchildren. Visitation is scheduled for 6:00 until 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 5, at New Lebanon Freewill Baptist Church. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 6, at New Lebanon Freewill Baptist Church, officiated by Bro. Ricky Peebles. Interment will follow in New Lebanon Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. He is survived by his wife, Glenda Wright of Cairo, MS; two sons, Steve Wright (LeAnn) of Crumpler, NC, and Tony Wright (Natalie) of Rochester, MN; three brothers, Bobbie Wright (Wanda) of Tupelo, MS, Clois Wright (Estell) of Byhalia, MS, and Donnie Wright (Teresa) of Booneville, MS; three grandchildren, Kristen Shatley (Johnny) of Jefferson, NC, Hannah Wright of Rochester, MN, and Kyle Wright of Santa Fe, NM; and one great-grandchild, Carson Shatley. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clovis Allen and Ethel Mae Fowler Wright. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Lebanon Cemetery Fund.
