Jimmie Joe Briley was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on March 10, 1934, the son of the late William Grady and Beedie Mae Worley Briley. On September 22, 1961, he was united in marriage to Bobbie Jo Holloway, who preceded him in death on June 9, 1998.
Mr. Briley served his country in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954 and afterwards moved to Chicago, Illinois, where he lived for thirty two years. He attended Souls Harbor Church and the Lighthouse Pentecostal Church in Savannah, Tennessee.
Mr. Briley departed this life at Jackson Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee on August 20, 2014, at the age of 80 years, 5 months and 10 days.
He is survived by two sisters, Glenda Collier and Mae Powers, and her husband, Johnny, of Savannah, Tennessee; nieces, Mandy Collins, Penny Powers, Tonya Briley, Kandy McGuire, Carol Collier, Lisa Holloway Wright, Christy Holloway and Elaine Conoway; nephews, Kevin McCormick, John Powers, William (Bill) Earl Briley, Jeff Collier, Ray Collier, Marty Foster, Robby Foster, Jeremy Rickman, and Terry Holloway; eighteen great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Earl D. Briley.
