Jimmie Hearn passed away on August 8, 2023 at 88 years of age. Jimmie was born in Laurel, MS. where he resided until moving to Mobile, AL. with his parents, Theodore and Lessie Hearn. He attended Murphy High School, where he met and later married his lifetime love, Ann McMillan Hearn. Jimmie began his career with the US Navy and served his country in the Korean war, stationed on the USS Regulus. After his tour of duty, he received an honorable discharge, returned to Mobile and went to work for the Air Force at Brookley Air Force Base, transferring to Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Al. along with his wife (Ann) and 3 daughters when Brookley AFB closed. There he became an exceptional, highly in-demand computer programmer.
Throughout his life Jimmie was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was dedicated to his Lord and served as a deacon at Weatherly Heights Baptist Church. He loved music and had great musical talent, playing guitar and singing. He also spent a lot of time perfecting his golf game at Valley Hill Country Club. Jimmie always had a sense of humor that was loved by everyone.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Ann McMillan Hearn, his parents and his brother, Theodore Hearn Jr.
He is survived by his brothers, Tom Hearn (Sandy) and Donald Hearn (Rudeen); his children, Robin Goebel, Jill Wesolowski (Charles), and Suzanne Komara (Jeffrey); his sister-in-law, Emily McMillan; and his grandchildren, Tracy Lakin (Shea), Lindsey Purviance (Steve), Johnna Komara, Charlene Ross (Scott), Elizabeth, Wanda, and Daniel Wesolowski. He also had 4 beautiful great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be at Weatherly Heights Baptist Church from 10:00 -11:00 AM on Saturday, August 12 with a memorial service to follow at 11:00.
