Jimmie Cookston, age 69 of Scottsboro, Alabama passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at Huntsville Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was a lifelong member and ordained minister of the 51 years of The Church of God of the Union Assembly.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Melissa; four sons, Eric (Linda) Cookston, Dubresse Cookston, Jamie Cookston, and Cody (Mikayla) Cookston; two daughters, Kerry (Josh) McWilliams and Chelsea (Rod) Key; ten grandchildren, Matthew Cookston, Chase Cookston, Erica (Austin) Moyers, Cadence Key, Kennedy Key, Sawyer McWilliams, Marcus McWilliams, Lottie McWilliams, Anniston Jones, and Lane Hargis; two great grandchildren, Chance Cookston and Rhiley Moyers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert & Gertrude Cookston; brother, Houston; sisters, Gertie and Nona; and two great grandchildren, Kip and Motley Cookston.
Visitation will be held at Scottsboro Funeral Home on Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Scottsboro Funeral Home on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at 3 p.m. Burial will follow in Pinehaven Memorial Gardens.
