Jim Rader, age 79, of Dalton, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2024.
Jim graduated from Coffee High School in Florence, AL, class of ‘63. He was a proud alumni of Auburn University, class of ’69. Jim was an avid golfer, loved animals and animal rescue, and spent his retirement dancing and travelling.
He was preceded in death his parents, Major Leroy H. Rader and Ruth Annette Rader.
He is survived by his son, Rich Rader of Cohutta; daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Jeremy Braddy of Calhoun; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Nancy Rader of Tallassee, AL; grandchildren, Caroline and Ailee Roberson; nieces, Beth (Bo) Rader and Amy Rader; the mother of his children, Jeanette Henderson Rader; the love of his life, Sanna Wagner; a nephew, Patrick Whitlock; his dog, Daisy; and his cat, Cootie.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. in the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Noel Caldwell officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, November 2, 2024 from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Northwest Georgia Humane Society.
