Jim David Murphy, 59, of Florence, passed away September 26, 2023. Visitation will be Saturday, September 30, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Central Heights. The body will lie in state from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at Macedonia Church of Christ. The funeral will begin at 2:00 p.m. with James Senn officiating. Burial will be at Rhodesville Cemetery with Wayne Sims leading a graveside prayer.
Jim was a loving husband, brother, uncle, and friend to all that knew him. He enjoyed being in the wood shop, sitting around the pond with his wife, and being with his nieces and nephews. He loved preaching and was a real man of God, He was a member of old Macedonia Church of Christ.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Kristie Murphy; parents, Henry and Alta Lee Murphy; brothers, Mac and Henry Jr. Murphy; sister -in-law, Judy Green; and brother-in-law, Wayne Green.
Jim is survived by his wife, Patsy Murphy; brother, Timmy Murphy, sister-in-law, Marilyn Murphy; brother- in-law, Darrell Baskins (Michelle); special niece, Kim; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Austin Baskins, Nick Brewer, Tony Brewer, Mike Hamm, David Askew, and David Hamm.
Honorary pallbearers are Diesel Smith, Mickey Hamm, and Tanner Green.
Special thanks to his boss, Lyle and Linda Askew for all they have done throughout the years and for being family.
