Obituary of Jewell Prater McCulloch Jewell Prater McCulloch, 91, of Decatur passed away peacefully at Huntsville Hospital on Friday, October 25, 2024 surrounded by her family.

The funeral service for Mrs. McCulloch will be Monday, October 28 at 1:00 PM at Central Park Baptist Church with Matt Haines, Jackie Kay and Jack Lovelace officiating. Visitation is from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the church. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.

She was born in Morgan County to Daniel Minor Prater and Berdie May Gray Prater. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lonnie Eugene McCulloch; two brothers Dan Prater and Clarence Prater; two sisters, Marjorie Cockrell and Nell Brazier.

She is survived by two daughters, Rhonda McCulloch Yates (Doyce) and Melissa McCulloch; two granddaughters; Laura Yates Joseph (T.J.) of Helena, AL and Anna Yates Lovell (Matt) of Collierville, TN; four great-grandchildren; Anna Katherine Joseph, Jonathan Marshall Joseph, Madison Claire Lovell and Connor Yates Lovell and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. McCulloch resided at the Terrace of Priceville for 11 years in their independent care. While there, she enjoyed spending time with her friends and participating in group activities. Family was her greatest treasure. She loved her family dearly and held a deep faith in God. She will be remembered by the lives she touched with love, kindness and wisdom.

Pallbearers were Jim House, Doug Edney, Tony Prater, Byron Brazier, Larry Self, Jeff McCulloch, Jeremy Jones and Kevin Sizemore.
