Jewell Francis Elam was born June 22, 1940 in Selmer, TN the daughter of the late William Marlie and Zina Thacker Hornbuckle. She departed this life on July 21, 2019 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 79 Years, 29 Days.
Mrs. Elam was a long time member of Stantonville Methodist Church. She had worked for Garan Corporation in Corinth, MS. She loved playing the guitar and singing.
She is survived by two sisters, Mary Flatt and husband Randy of Stantonville, TN, Barbara Brandon of Huntingdon, TN; a brother, Bobby Hornbuckle of Stantonville, TN; nephew that she raised, Michael Hornbuckle of Ft. Wayne, IN; a good friend, Hollie Knight of Selmer, TN; sister-in-law, Iva Hornbuckle; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Elam was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Ray Elam, passed away April 21, 2001; a sister, Rachel Hornbuckle; four brothers; Ernest, Maynard, Manford Hornbuckle and J. D. White; brother-in-law, Joe David Brandon; sisters-in-law, Kay and Shirley Hornbuckle; five nephews: Philip Hornbuckle, Victor Hornbuckle, Allan Flatt, Jimmy Brandon and Kevin Brandon.
