Jewell Faye Farris, age 96, of Lawrenceburg, TN, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2024, at Lauderdale Christian Nursing Home in Killen, AL. She was a native of Lexington, AL, a graduate of Lexington High School, and attended Florence State. She was also a homemaker and a member of Center Hill Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ottis Herbert and Laura Janet Wisdom Allen; her husband, Grady Owen “Tony” Farris; one daughter, Debbie Farris Smith; and three brothers, Elton Allen, W.C. Allen, and Neal Allen.
She is survived by one son, Norman Farris (Michelle); one daughter, Lynne Redd (Darrell); one sister, Janet Brown; six grandchildren, Chris Smith, Misty Avery, Stephanie Brewer, Alex Perry, Tyler Farris, and Rachel Griffin; nine great-grandchildren, Christopher Smith, Lauren Potts, Waylon Owens, Noah Avery, Lucy Avery, Elise Farris, Evelyn Farris, Addison Griffin, and Callahan Griffin; and two great-great-grandchildren, Layton Smith and Collins Potts. Those serving as pallbearers are Tyler Farris, Scott Avery, Westley Perry, Waylon Owens, Ben Brewer, and Sam Griffin. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Lauderdale Christian Nursing Home for excellent care for the last year.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 12:00 PM Wednesday, November 20, 2024, with Rodney Livingston officiating. Interment will follow at Center Hill Church of Christ Cemetery in Lexington, AL.
