Ms Jesteen Witherspoon, a life-long resident of Pontotoc County,
departed this life on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at Sanctuary Hospice
House in Tupelo, MS.
Jesteen Witherspoon, the daughter of the late George and Ida Lee
Witherspoon was born July 15, 1940, in Pontotoc, MS. She professed her
hope in Christ at an early age and joined College Hill Methodist Episcopal
Church in Pontotoc, MS where she remained a faithful member until death.
She was Usher President, Sunday School Treasurer, sung in the choir and
participated in all church activities.
Jesteen attended College Hill School in Pontotoc, MS and attended college
at Okolona Junior College in Okolona, MS.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, George and Ida Lee
Witherspoon; her sisters: Stella Jean Hutchinson, Mae Florence Carouthers
and Odessa Garmon.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories: her son Dexter Witherspoon
(Sandra) of Tupelo, MS; four sisters: Jimmie Standifer, Macie West both of
Pontotoc, MS, Dorothy Thomas (Andrew) of Munster, IN and Vella Douglas
of Chicago, IL; four grandchildren: Brandy Montgomery, Monique Esters,
Portia Binder, and Kendall Ware; two great-grandchildren, Alaysia Berry
and Kailen Ware; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and
friend
