Jessie Mae Winter King, 95, Tuscumbia, passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2024. Visitation will be Thursday, August 29, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will be Friday, August 30, at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Tuscumbia, beginning at 11:00 with Bro. Danny Stanford and Bro. Jacob Fleming officiating. Mrs. King will lie in state one hour prior to the start of the service. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.
Jessie was a member of Victory Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of sixty-nine years, Pastor Malcolm Thomas King; parents, Austin and Nancy Ann Winter; siblings, Lily Prater, Louis Winter, Annie Lou Askew, Leonard Winter, Joe Dalton Winter, Sidney Winter, and Robert Winter; and grandson, Jacob King.
Jessie is survived by five sons, Wayne (Barbara), Harold (Carol), David (Carolyn), Danny (Diane), and Dalton (Chastity); one daughter, Connie Scogin (Jackie); fifteen grandchildren, Michelle, Wesley, Tammy, Darryl, Amy, Mack, Jessica, Rebekah, Jennifer, Jonathan, Danielle, Jordan, Blaine, Logan, and Gavin; thirty-one great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Nancy Viall and Marjorie Glass; and a beloved host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Wesley, Darryl, Mack, Logan, and Gavin King, Jonathan and Jordan Scogin, and Gage McCormack.
