Jessie M. Thomas, Jr., 93, of Florence, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012.
Mr. Thomas was retired from Monarch Tile and served in the U.S. Army in the European Theatre during World War II. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lorene Thomas; and a sister, Lilly Richardson.
Visitation for family and friends will be at Elkins Funeral Home, Florence, Saturday from 9:30 am until 11:30 a.m. The graveside service will follow at noon at the Wilson Cemetery. Matthew Brewer will officiate.
Mr. Thomas is survived by his wife of 66 years, Gladys Thomas; a daughter, Glenda Adams and husband, James, of Florence; a son, Billy Thomas and wife, Janet, of Florence; grandchildren, Brian Thomas, Amy Adams, Kelly Thomas and husband, Ian, and Chauncey Thomas and wife, Tiffany; great-grandchildren, Brodie and Ramzie Thomas, Braxton and Greyson Dodge and Ashtyn Thomas.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
