Funeral service for Jessie L. Wright, Sr., 76, will be Sunday, June 2, 2024 at 12:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jeff Griffith officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, June 1, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.
Mr. Wright died on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at his residence. He was born February 17, 1948, in Morgan County to Walter Samuel Wright and Mary Jane Garrison Wright.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a retired Veteran of the United States Army after 21 years of service and served during the Vietnam War. He also retired from Civil Service. He loved music, singing, played in “Sounds of Glory” Gospel band and recorded music. He took his family all over the world while he was in the Army. He loved talking about the Lord and reading his Bible and loved the Lord with his whole heart. Preceding him in death were his parents, a brother: Virgil Wright, a sister: Barbara Norwood, and grandchildren: Brandie Wright and Joshua Wright.
