Jessie Junior Slaughter
He was born in Chester County where he spent most of his life prior to moving to Hardeman County later in life. He was a graduate of Chester County High School and retired from Devilbiss in Jackson. Mr. Slaughter was a member of Liberty Grove Baptist Church where he taught a Bible class for over 30 years. He served his country in the USAF at Kiestler AFB from 1962-1966.
He leaves a son, Jason Slaughter of Jackson; sister, Diane (Bobby) Humphreys of Jackson; step-sister, Jean Kiestler of Jackson; five step-children, Barbara (Tom) Anderson of Cloverport, Debbie Castleberry of Memphis, Jeff (Teresa) Castleberry of Bolivar, Susan Castleberry of Bolivar and, Chris Castleberry of Cloverport; two step-grandchildren, Tyler (Abby) Castleberry and Penny (Lee) Garner; four step-great-grandchildren, Maisen and Gavin Castleberry; Laney and Mary Burks Garner; and a brother-in-law, Larry (Dee) Vandiver of Bolivar.
Mr. Slaughter was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Barton (2/27/2020); his mother and step-father, Willie Pearl and Claude Bolton and, his father, Bill Slaughter.
