Jesse Bruce Gray, age 88, of Leoma, TN passed away Sunday, June 02, 2024, at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, TN. He was a native of Lawrence County, TN, a retired UAW Chairman for GM at Willow Run Plant in Michigan, and of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Gray was a 50 year member of the Loretto Masonic Lodge #655 F&AM.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Gray; his mother, Lena McDonald Gray Troup; and seven siblings, Helen Shaw, Hershel Gray, Rayford Gray, Grayford Gray, Frank Gray, Doris Ann Gray, and Satch Gray.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Patricia Lois Gray of Leoma, TN; three daughters, Carrie Clark (Brad) of Tecumseh, MI, Catherine Pate of Leoma, TN, and Cynthia Maynard of Clinton, MI; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Merriman, Patricia Bendele, Cameron Clark (Samantha), Grant Clark (Allison), Ann Rose (Brian), Ashley Thompson (Daniel), Christopher Pate, Lucian Gray Maynard (Natasha), and Savanna Gray Maynard (Dave); nineteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one sister, Joyce Cleveland of Calhoun, LA. Those serving as pallbearers are Lucian Gray Maynard, Cameron Clark, Grant Clark, Avery Rose, Sam Rose, Eric Pate, and Peyton Rose.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, June 05, 2024, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 06, 2024, with Tim Hammond officiating, with a masonic service to follow. Interment will follow at Unity Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN. The family suggests memorials be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
