Jerry Wayne Jones, age 62, died, Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. The visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Central Heights. The funeral will be Friday, Oct. 20, at 1 p.m. at Cornerstone Church of Christ. The body will lie-in-state from 12:30 to 1 p.m. Arvy Dupuy officiating. Burial will follow at Center Star Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Sue Beasley Jones; son, Joseph Wayne Jones; and brother, Elton Jones.
He had a strong faith and loved the Lord and was a member of Cornerstone Church of Christ.
He loved hunting, fishing, watching Alabama football, and enjoyed spending time with grandkids and friends and family.
Survivors include his wife, Debra Jones; sons, Jason Jones (Misty) and Chris Jones (Stephanie); daughter, Brittany Jones; brother, Tommy Jones, Delton Jones, Mike Jones, and Bill Jones; sister, Glenda Hinthorn; seven grandchildren, Hannah, Jayla, Jaxon, Gracie, Jewel, Dustin, and Tereena; and one great-grandson, J.D.
Pallbearers will be Tim Jones, Adam Rhodes, Andy Rhodes, Mike Durham, Robbie Jones, and Ricky Pettus.
